Trinity: A Graphic History of the First Atomic Bomb
It is hard to make a book on the Manhattan Project stand out since it is such a highly researched topic and has been written about a lot through the years. The Manhattan Project is widely known and has been published in just about any form possible. There were not many formats left, but Jonathan Fetter-Vorm, who wrote a graphic novel about it has managed to bring the story to life in a new and creative way. The graphic novel, Trinity, tells the story of the dramatic race to create and the decision to drop the world’s first ever atomic bomb during World War II. This historical narrative begins the story with how the decision came about to create such a thing, all the way to the Manhattan Project and eventually the decision to drop the Atomic Bomb in Japan. Fetter-Vorm chronicles one of the most important political, environmental and psychological events that took place in history. He tells the harsh reality of the consequences of this new technology and how it impacted one of WWII’s most disastrous events in Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan. The book Trinity, is one of the most perfect introductions to one of history’s most critical events that is still debated highly in society today.
